our manifesto

Buy this synthetic motor oil, upgrade your internet speed, buy new athletic shoes. We’re all bombarded daily by messages about buying higher performance goods.  But what’s the most important performance investment you can make?  Your body.  It’s the most beautifully complicated and elegant system.  And it requires only 5 ingredients to perform at its best: warmth, clean air and water, sleep and food.

We’re going to leave it up to the others to help you with the first 4 ingredients.  But that fifth is why we created Slingshot.

You eat because you are hungry. And in your busy mornings, if you make time for food at all, it can be hard to deny your cravings for those “beige foods” at your local café (yum, bagels and croissants). But those refined carbs jack up your blood sugar and leave your body’s cells hungry within the hour. If you are really focused on your own body and brain’s performance look for simple food that has a natural balance of proteins, fats, fiber that makes you feel great. That’s  what Slingshot is all about.  Great food can help you slingshot into your day.  Our food doesn’t come from a laboratory.  We don’t use preservatives or make products that come in a box.  Simple food isn’t perfectly shaped or evenly colored and it definitely isn’t made from refined ingredients like flour.

Introducing Slingshot:  real performance food, as nature intended it, and conveniently packaged for your busy lifestyle. Think of Slingshot as your secret weapon against your weekdays (‘weak-days’).
